Subject: Making Potassium more available.

SE MN
We have a hard time keeping K levels at good numbers in our tissue samples. Our soils tend to not be naturally fertile in K, nor are they good at making it available. I'm told it is due to our clay types in SE MN. An idea I have been tossing around in my mind is adding high Ca pell lime to the dry broadcast with the intent of the Ca occupying spots on the CEC and moving that K down in the soil profile to be deeper than the top 2 inches where the soil drys and has no active roots. Is this a futile thought. What other ideas do you have to help with K availability.
