Subject: RE: Lawfarms/Haywilson on lime

Martinsville, Ohio

Very good posts above!  Hay, you and Brad have me digging back into my books.

My soil here performs best at 4000 lbs plus calcium measured at 50 inches deep on a Midwest test.  That is just an anecdotal observation.

It is very expensive and long term for me to get there.

My best performing soil has near 80% Ca, 15% Magnesium, 3.5% or better Potassium on that test.

This is eastern Midwest soil where one glacier deposited and the next glacier got near it.

I know enough to be dangerous and I think that describes many of us.

I am an ignorant no-tilling SW Ohio native who seeks the best for me and my friends.
