Central Missouri | My best corn has been at .6 also. It happens once every 10 years but that is because the growing conditions were such that the corn could extract every bit of N from the soil possible and the best yields are in years when Oxygen was always present in the soil thus no N loss and more produced from the soil Thus greater potential. I'm not disputing liebrechts law or that stuff needs to be in balance but soils are all so very different in the amount of N they mineralize and the amount of N they can retain and release and mother nature works on all of those differently each year. | |
