If you are going to hay it first then spray the Roundup wait 72 and then cut it. You can still feed the hay and it is on the Roundup label to do that. You will get a better kill then spraying the regrowth and then you can plant immediately after baling the hay. I have had great luck going to corn after CRP even if it wasn't killed until spring. Make sure to use plenty of N and some sort of insecticide to help with secondary insects like grubs and wireworms, etc. Hardest part of planting in killed sod is getting the trench closed. Spiked or cast closing wheels are a must.
