What they should have done was evaluated the population numbers in relation to other game birds.
I'd rather stick to facts, not conspiracy theories. And I highly doubt that other game birds have a population reduced to the few hundreds that were mentioned in the article for the lesser prairie chicken. I am sure people who worked on this regulation have a pretty good idea of how the populations compare and that they did not exaggerate the status just for the sake of pissing off farmers or ExxonMobil. Besides, they pissed the oil corps off already with the 2018 mandate for no sulfur gas at the pump. |
