| I agree with other posters about walking away from this tractor if to use. If you really want a tractor of that style and era to use, get a 1470 Case. They are rigid frame, 145 hp and will be more dependable. I agree all these type tractors would be sought by collectors now and somewhat hard to find. We ran a 4100 for about 5 -6 years when I was a kid and there are a lot problems with that tractor. A dealer offered my Dad a new 4166 bare back for 23000 in 1973 0r 1974, He bought a used Versatile instead and it worked out well. The Cummins engine would do 2x work the 4100 was doing on less fuel per day, was not long and the 4100 left as well. FWIW | |
