If I read this sentence correctly, basically this new endangered status has absolutely zero impact on anybody or on the bird.
For now. And that's what they want you to think. What's implied but not said is "as long as you're doing what we want".
What they should have done was evaluated the population numbers in relation to other game birds. The drought has whacked all bird populations, not just this one. They're using it as a power grab.
Heck, maybe to improve the populations they should take away the hunting season of it? |
