Most forage specialists would tell you that a properly managed (i.e. inoculated, packed, covered, and faced) bunker will have less feed waste and over 10 years less cost than either bags or uprights. The bonus is that bunkers take less time to fill and are also faster to feed out of.
This dutchman hates to see unused assets, so if there is an upright on the farm I prefer to use it for corn.
