I have seen some real strong setups to get rid of the big posts in the center. The best looks to be big posts in the sidewall with sort of trusses going up at an angle meeting in the middle. Then, tie into the existing braces. Triangles are what give strength.
Guys that start in with a chainsaw til the combine fits, generally, the structure is bad in 5 years.
