Dalhart, TX | Ernie, I know of some CRP grass put in I think in 2011 that I have yet to see one grassy plant among the weeds. We can grow some pretty good crops in our area
I practice a lot of no till, all wheat stubble is kept from wheat harvest thru the following years milo crop. So in a wheat / milo / fallow rotation only the spring to summer of fallow may be tilled before wheat is sown again
Problem is, I haven't had enough precipitation to even grow a cover crop. I don't know if you could tell but that was my best stand of wheat I was going thru. The ground to the north hasn't seen iron other than a seeder since 2006 I think. That no till is blowing across the wheat and it just "snowballs"
