CaseFarmer, I think I have the older FC monitor but I have an adaptor cable that plugs into the diagnostics port of my FC harness.  The other end of the cable is my 9pin connector.  Not sure if yours is the same but it may be an option rather than sending the monitor in.  I can check for a part number if you like.
