Place the unzipped firmware in the root directory of a usb drive. No serial cable needed. It must be calculating a gps position (green sat icon), before it will let you downgrade firmware. 4.05 is still more stable than 5.0, but 5.0 is still ok for most units, but don't let your storage drop below 100hrs.
