agricon my question is when you design diesels in pickups too burn 2x as much fuel as they would with out all the emission crap were is the net environmental benefit...diesel,gas,ethanol,propane ,ect all come with a environmental cost.......I really don't like the new diesels, those old 359 perkins where simple and hardly sipped any fuel....have a little perkins in an old massey and all it needs to run is battery and fuel

Umm, don't be too sure about that - I'm currently driving a 2012 F-350 4WD diesel that gets 22mpg on the interstate and it is WAY heavier and bigger that the similar truck it replaced. Not to mention it has 400HP & 800 ft lb of torque!
