Subject: ez guide 500 downgrading firmware

I have had a EZ guide 500 for several years and a few years back I up dated the firmware to the 5.10 had nothing but problems because I was unable to upgrade my ez boom. If I understand right the only way to up grade the EZ boom is through connecting a cable to the EZ guide 500 and use there software called a toolbox but you must use a serial port cable, this is old technology and most lap tops don't have these ports anymore. I have tried to install the firmware on the firefly USB drive that came with my EZ guide but I am unable to locate the upgrade on it. The last time I installed 5.10 firmware I had a lot of issues with it so I took it back off and reinstalled 4.0 and got along just fine. I had attempted to downgrade this time back to the 4.0 version this time and now all my EZ guide 500 will do is keep looping not booting up. I think that the only choice is to do a hard boot with all three buttons pushed in when I power it up. Is there anyone out there that can give me any advise. Also I am looking for the 4.05 version firmware. The only reason that I upgraded this time back to the 5.10 firmware is because I keep loosing satellite signal and I was thinking that this might help wrong never learned a lesion from the last time.
