Appomattox/Fredericksburg, VA | If you change the cal number in the 2630 it will not change anything that is already recorded. It is just from that point forward. I'm not familiar with Farmworks but I know with Apex you can go in and do a post cal. You can do it for a machine, variety, harvest date and field total. It will show you the cal number, and allow you to change it to match if that's what you want to do. Right or wrong, what I do is calibrate the machine each year in each crop at the beginning. Knock on wood I've had good luck with that cal number working on throughout the season for that crop. (I'm just a small farm 500 acres) If you have a drastic change in conditions, you might need to recalibrate. Then at the end of the year when all of the grain is sold, I have a total bushel number to compare with. I then compare the bushels that were sold to the bushels that Apex says I harvested and come up with a coefficient (sold bushels/apex bushels). I then take the field totals and multiply them by this coefficient and then my fields are correct. My total bushels match.
Some others probably have a better way. Data is only as good as its accuracy. |
