Which would work if he could get pass the loading screen and from what I gather from the OPs post it gets stuck at that point.
You can try redownloading the update, re-insert USB, and see if it will go or allow you to go to the software update screen. If not, you will have to take it to your IS person at the dealer and have them reprogram the display.
