Scale uses mass, which along with gravity (acceleration) is the force (weight). So a scale upside down then reads what?

I'd agree, not seeing how this is any more precise. It could be said it's more accurate - but that's like back to the day of the dart board in class. all three darts clustered together around a single number (double 3 for example) is accuracy. precise is having them hit the intended target - say for example the double bullseye. Only one dart would have to hit it, and the other two on the 14 and the 5 for example, would already be more precise than all three clustered.

It all comes down to how calibrate the yield sensor.

Well, you are right, it reads the same way as the scale, except that instead of gravity you have the grain mass acceleration produced by the grain elevator.

From experience in the field, with different crops, different hybrids and varieties, I can tell you it is more precise and accurate.
