Perry, MO | I am on the Rural Fire Board in our area and got quite a shock when I got the quote for some pump parts. Our department has a 94 model fire truck and a valve came apart and went through the pump, it did not hurt the housing but we need a new impeller, nut, seal, and a brass wear ring. The impeller was a little over $3000 but that was no real shock, the shocker was the brass wear ring that is over $7500. I have learned that this is a Hale Godiva pump, Godiva is a European model that is hard to get parts for. Everything but the wear ring is in the U.S. but it will have to come from overseas with a 12 week lead time. I am going to take it to a local machine shop and see what they think about making one but I am afraid it may be tough without having some specs from the company and not knowing how much it is worn down. We are not a tax based district, just operate off of dues that are voluntary and this is going to eat up most of what we spend in a year.
