As Ag continues to evolve and with all the injection of higher tech options be it seed, VRT, Precision, etc....what do you think the new ag sales person would possess in skills compared to what we work with now? Would it mean more or less to you if he was an expert in precision ag and would you want him/her to be on the bleeding edge of technology? Do only expect him/her to know their seed and leave the rest to you? Or wold it be of value to you for that person to kow how their genetics interact/respond to diff soils and fertility and such? Just asking as we all need to look forward and I think it is time growers get in the drivers seat and give input to all in the ag industry of what we need and not sit back and drink the kool-aid.
No, I don't feel that the seed dealers need to be working on my precision equipment. That is the job for the precision guys that actually know what they are doing. I see all this field scripts and monstanto's programs trying to get your data, and then charge you for that. LOL, Im sorry, but it's my farm, I will keep my own data, and make my own maps. |
