NW KS/ SC ID | judging by our PJs, a 2009 26' bumper pull deckover, and the 2011 24 ft bumper pull heavy car trailer style, I think they fired the welder that put our 07 25 ft deckover goose together, so I would give the OK to PJ. look over the website really good, and find a dealer that will let you order one in.
the problem is to have a competitive price, most PJ dealers order the Quality Brand axles, which are anything but. they are import junk. Dexters are optional and have to be ordered.
the 3 ramp system isnt bad, they are spring loaded nicely. we dont have a single dovetail on our place, all straight tails for what we haul, but a good buddy of my dad's whom i worked for in college runs PJ dovetails, so I got to throw plenty of ramps. I personally like a system that is manually operated, murphys law states something electrical quits before it is back up ready to go down the road. :)
we have a Load Trail car trailer, and the wiring is decent (although ours, an 08, is NOT wired to code, figured that out putting a new plug on. white and blue wires were all that were correct) and the construction is good. design and engineering is better than average, as is the PJ. both the PJ and the load trail have an air ride option, and both have a nice deep full width toolbox that I like. most others have some pathetic low pro toolbox or a chain rack.
I have looked alot at Kaufman, after asking here on NAT, they sound flexible to little changes on the trailer, so I am thinking we will stop by the factory to see what we can do. I like some PJ designs and will see if we can get a box beam outer rail and big neck toolbox. out of the cheaper trailers, Kaufman seems to have their stuff together. they seem to be a hot-shotters favorite, which is always good.
IMO for a tandem dually, a 32 footer is a nice size. you run out of room quick, and its nice to comfortably haul a combine platform. the goosneck design allows you to really cramp it into places, so IMO dont worry about the extra length.
