Manitoba | I have an 08 Silverado with a 5.3 where I've had to get the screen on the sender replaced twice within a year. Sounds like it acted just like yours. Th e first time I shut it down rt away and checked oil which was good. Called a GM dealer and they told me about this issue w 5.3s. So I started it back up listened for knocks and other noises and drove home the 2 miles. It did show pressure occasionally. Trailered to GM dealer and it was just the sender screen. Happened again about a yr later. This time it was mostly just showing low pressure. Seems like a built in design problem. I use synthetic oil and change at recommended intervals. | |
