Subject: RE: bright future for young farmers

SE Iowa
Not many young guys around here unless dad is providing the cash. Guys will only be getting bigger, that trend has been going on for fifty years or more, good or bad. Bigger equipment dictates bigger operations as does greed and ego. Have two sons, neither will farm even though I could start one but be unfair to the other siblings in doing so. Farming is a great life even though we are the biggest complainers around, too hot or cold, dry or wet, rent too high, prices too low, neighbor outbidding everybody all the time. Farming will be more efficient but very costly to pay for the technology. I see magafarms run by chemical and seed companies, not sure who will own them though.
