Subject: RE: 1 or 2 coats of primer on purple drywall

Just recently helped a friend who is remodeling a bathroom do some painting. The mold resistant drywall was used and then used Killz primer. We did two coats of primer because the purple paper color from the drywall kept coming through. It seemed like the paper soaked in a lot of the primer, hence the two coats. The purple drywall color was faintly visible after the second primer coat. Then did two coats of paint and you can't see the purple. The wall color was a light cream-yellow hue and ceiling white. If it would have been a darker color, I'm sure one coat of primer would have been suffice.
