Subject: RE: Disk drill vs hoe drill

Texas/New Mexico Stateline

I've been mostly using a hoe drill the past few years. I could get a lot bigger drill for less $ than with a disk drill. Plus I don't have to deal with disk bearings going out all the time. That is really nice.

Disadvantage of course is you are planting down in a hole and a big rain will make for a replant more so than a disk drill. Also a little too much residue it won't go through it.

I have both, and they both have their place. But I use the hoe drill as much as possible to get across acres quicker and cheaper.
