All of this technology is great when it works, and ain't worth a damn when it doesn't. But if you have the right support team, your down time should be minimized. Having good support, both at the dealer level and at the manufacturer level does come with a price tag.
I always tell my customer's to run with markers until the get comfortable. Then I always tell them, that if they are going to be stopping for lunch, or fill-up, or something, then I suggest dropping that marker for at least the last 100 yards. When I plant (I am both a farmer and seller/support), I believe in the system enough I leave the markers up, but I do drop them the last 100 yards or so each pass just to help give me an idea where I need to be pulling back in since I am bad at telling distance! The same philosophy holds true no matter what color of equipment or precision farming equipment.
