| If you buy from a dealer with good support it shouldn't happen. Not saying you won't have hardware or software issues, but a good dealer can keep you running.
The entrance point to GPS, guidance and steering, can be worked around if something fails. You're neighbors are absolutely right btw, until you're comfortable and confident with your systems keep your markers. If something does fail, you can go back to doing it the traditional way.
The big problems come up when the GPS system is also controlling sections, rates, product application etc. If everything is tied together you make some huge savings on inputs, but potentially you're dead in the water should it fail. That's where good support is really going to shine.
Just remember that your local PF guy is likely sales, support, and service into one. So there's probably nobody better to suck up to at your dealership :) | |
