Central Nebraska | With regards to writing prescriptions, you cannot write equations in Basic. Simple prescriptions are easy ie, corn yielded 200 bpa last year so this year you want to plant 30K sd/ac and the dry land yielded 100 bpa so I want to plant 19K sd/ac. Its when you want to write an equation for a multi-year spread and taken into account crop removal, if you want to build or maintain the fertility, etc that SMS basic is lacking.
And Basic wont do multi year average composite map, combine say 5 years of corn yields into 1 map so you can see where the high yield spots are and where the lows are.
Those are 2 of the things that i wished basic had, but other than that it is a very good program that is capable of a lot more than most people use it for. | |
