Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Raven has used chemical injection for many years. I worked with some of the first systems (20 years ago?) where the controller/display was a Raven 700 two product console. This required a separate motor control and a separate alarm box.
Later Raven came out with the Sidekick controller/display that was meant to be piggy backed on top of a Raven 440/450/460. The Raven Sidekick console contained the motor control to create the PWM power to run the injection pump as well as a display with alarms for Vacuum and Flow problems. The various settings for width, speed cal, pump meter cal etc. as well as the target rate were entered into this display.
Although the Sidekick was designed to work with the Raven 4X0 family, it can be used with third party controllers as well. The Sidekick console needs to have a speed source and "boom sense" connections to the main product controller so that it can determine which sections if any are ON and behave appropriately.
Raven has CAN modules to work with their CAN based displays.
Ag Leader has had a Direct Chemical Injection Module for use with their Liquid Product Control for chemical injection with their CAN based displays for several years. I used this combination with good results. This can be used for chemical injection into a carrier on a sprayer or for N-Serv into NH3 on an Anhydrous system.
This concept continues to grow with support from other OEM companies.
