Explain the "running out of threads." The hex heads of the two push bolts will disappear into the casting if the wedge has ever moved. The push bolts at the home position are not contacting the wedge and will turn several times before they contact and get tight. Is that where you are really at now? If the wedge has actually moved it will visibly not be even with the other one.
