Using the dual power in road gear to slow down is not recommended. When using the 8700 on the CIH 8312 discbine I would use the clutch and then shift the dp to low and release the cutch on the end rows. With that said shifting under heavy tillage or heavy loads with our Houle spreader never caused any problems with our 8700, 9000, or TW30. 11,400 hours on the 8700 and the dual power has never been touched. We have owned this tractor since new.
