RedOak is there many farms down your way bring 10K an ac? On 100 ac a cool million, what could you possible grow in Ontario that pay for that farm? Would there be buildings on a farm at that price?
Corn 150-200 bu., wheat 80-100 , soys 45-55 bu. ........ unless its a special farm that someone wants for greenhouse expansion or 2 buyers with big wallets and egos most bare land would be $6k ........ it will take maybe 5 yrs. of "normal crop prices and higher interest rates" and land probably will settle around $5k...... now if you go Oxford cty. or Mitchell area or where Gerrard is you probably can't buy bare ground for $20k , a lot of dairy & feather money ...... where we are we have greenhouse guys that are paying $500k an acre to build 40-100 acre greenhouse sites so land cost doesn't mean much if its got NG and big water main.......google earth Leamington ,Ontario and go north massive greenhouses too supply US with peppers,cukes and tomato's | |
