We use the CHC Navigation LT400N handhelds, much better GPS performance than the Trimble (will initialize to 1 foot and better accuracy is about 30 seconds using just WAAS). cost is less too. They have an RTK version too that can connect right to a CORS network with GPS and GLONASS and will initialize to 2 cm in about 15 seconds. Cost on the first one is about $2100 and the second unit is about $6300.
