I have a answer to your problem. ( step one) get rid of hired man so you will not get a lawsuit. (step two) cut back on acres that you farm so that you can handle your self. (step four) let a young farmer rent your excess land and help him start farming. (step four) then you can sit in town at a meeting every day that you want to and not have to worry about some under paid old man getting hurt. ( problem solved)
