Your OP said he had been around grain for 40 yrs. does that mean he is 55+?
Try telling him he isn't invincible, you cannot afford an accident either through negligence, stupidity, courageousness, or heat of the moment actions.
Tell him to stop and think. You appreciate his time, but next time we may have to consider making a change. If he gets pissed after that, then, let him make the move. Unless he then finds a reason to get hurt.
