Franklinton, LA
JK, thanks for the response. The week after I finished at LSU I went to work for AMCO in Yazoo City. That was in February 1965. In 1965 and 1966 I spent a lot of time visiting land clearing jobs in LA and MS. In June 1965 I made my first trip to LA Delta Plantation south of Jonesville. They had about 2000 acres cleared at this time but they had several dozers and about 15 AMCO disks clearing additional land. The farm manager was very nervous because the sheriff had moved some squatters around Larto Lake and some people had been shooting at his pickup. A young engineer can quickly get a big dose of humility when you start running disks behind a shearing blade.
