I cant answer your questions on metals. !2 years ago or so Farm Journal had a article about fertilizer sources. Some of them come from industry. One of the points by the naysayers was they went into the silo as a hazardous material and came out as fertilizer. Other said it was great fertilizer. There are some municipal sludges that are applied by "metal loading". This means that they only allow X amounts applied per acre per year, no matter what the fertility value is. Clean sludges have low metals content. Some of the "regulated" metals you may buy as a micro nutrient.
