yeah, the documentation could be better all around, but having boundaries in SMS should be step 1, because then it doesn't matter what you name a field in the monitor, it puts anything inside that bounday in that field.
IF you are running case or ag leader boxes in the field, having the boundaries on your monitor, also makes changing fields a no brainer, because it will alert you that you have left the field, and auto select the correct one.
