Thats a thread that was on here just this fall. It has a link to their website. Explains it all in detail there. Modem essentially just replaces the radio.
Is cellular RTK the future? Yes and No in my opinion. Yes it will do wonders compared to a radio freq. in some areas but not all. I think once there is significant enough coverage in an area it'd be the predominate choice. Although I still don't think it will make conventional radios extinct, at least not in my area where here we are in 2014 and we still have giant gaps in cellular coverage.
