Pretty sure Fendt announced they were at over 150 000 CVTs made since the beginning in 1996.  Fendt's line up is 100% CVT, so that's 15K tractors a year.  Add all the MF/Challenger/Valtra/TerraGator/JCB equipped with CVTs out there and it makes a huge number.  

There is indeed a huge difference between the Fendt CVT and competitors.  I've demoed  both, decided to stay with MF and haven't regretted it.  Deere and Case IH are both losing a lot of marketshare to MF (and some Fendt) in the area.  Excellent product yes, and also the best dealer service.
