Converted an 844 IH to a 5 row 30" about 3 yrs ago, works great. Everything slides on the frame, you will have to cut the hex shafts off to length. The tin can be narrowed if you don't mind doing a little cutting and drilling. The only problem could be that the frame might stick out under the end snouts.
IH 1044 head- how hard to narrow?
