Subject: Re: Water softener

Berks County Pa.
Iseedit summed it up very well. I had Kinetico twin tank. It was good but when I went back to buy another, they were INSANELY high priced. I got a Sears which also is regeneration on demand for 1/5 the price of Kinetico. The Sears has already gon 4 years and is doing well. The Kinetico went somewhere between 15 and 20 years. It then was not softening well. A plumber said that is normal for most softeners. The resin becomes "sticky" and does not function well. The resin can be replaced if everything is working well. Kinetico however wanted 2 times the price to replace the resin that I paid for a completely new Sears. I understand that Sears in the top two or three for softener sales.
