Subject: Re: Building a skid for field work...

SE wisconsin
Made one a while back, slick as heck! Sorry I've never posted pictures before, may have to learn! Used a Pack Rat brand sliding tool box(they are an enclosed drawer 3'w x 4'L x 12"h). Mounted that on 7'L 4x4's. On the back side of the drawer(end of the 4x4's), I mounted a 5500w generator. On top of the drawer I welded brackets that will fasten with one bolt both my torch cart and a small aircompressor. Also welded a shelf where I bungee cord a Hobart 110v wire welder and an extension cord. Drawer is big enough to hold electric tools, hand tools, misc. bolts and more. So I have a welder, torch, compressor, generator, and all the hand tools I need pre fastened down on a 3'x7' skid. Not a huge welder or compressor but it gets me out of the field into the shop in the worst case.
