Pilot Grove, Missouri
If pumping helps you probably have air in the hydraulic clutch. I just replace both the master cylinder and slave cylinder on my 2940. I knew the slave had a slight leak, but had been keeping an ey on the fluid. Went to use it one day and had a real hard time getting it in gear. Figured I would bleed the air out and use it for the day, then replace the slave at a more convenient date. Tried bleeding it and lost what little pedal it had and never could even get it to pump up again. Replaced master cyl and slave cyl. (figured I must have damaged the master somehow trying to pump up the pedal and bleed it). Filled the slave cylinder with fluid before installing it, put on the master cyl. and bled the system by pushing the rod back into the slave cyl then letting it extend slowly, repeated many times. and it has worked great since. Both parts together were right at $500 from Deere. Patrick
