Subject: Re: Ford TW-20 vs John Deere 4640

WC Illinois/SE Iowa
I just got my first tractor, a TW-25 fwd. I haven't had it long, so haven't put it thru my paces yet. Did put a Westendorf loader on it and have moved some snow and I like it so far. Mine was at the service interval for the injectors according to the book and they did need it. I would recommend following the service intervals if the rest holds true like my injectors did.

My neighbor has a 4640 that is currently the planting tractor and gets hooked to the grain cart in the fall. I help him a lot so I get to drive it a lot. It is a quad shift, which is kinda nice on the cart. We are going to try my TW on the cart this fall because of the fwd. The 4640 tends to get pushed by even a partial load on the cart when trying to turn. So we will see. My concern is by looking at the speed to gear chart in the TW, we might be in between the high/low gears so it might not be as convenient.
