Southeast SD | We don't know exactly what happened (bought at an auction) but was told the turbo went out and I'm assuming guy ran it out of oil. We had went up and messed with it yesterday most of the day and actually had it running right off the bat for about a minute then slowly died and we couldn't get it going again, it did keep turning over but the longer we left the engine heater plugged in the slower it wanted to turn over and the metal grating sound got worse and worse. I think as things got warmed up and some expansion began taking place the metal on metal contact became worse. I think maybe it would be easiest to make the 4-1/2 hour trip back out to where its at and pull the motor and bring it back to the shop, overhaul it and head back up there with it fixed and running. The one thing I'm worried about most is if the crank got damaged and if so how bad. | |
