If it is PVC then it is likely leaking at a joint or a crack. I agree that a temperature sensing gun might be a way to find the leak. You also might be able to hear the leak with the right equipment.
I think you might be better off to replace the whole line with some 160 psi flexible poly pipe. The right guy might be able to shank in a new flexible line a with a vibratory plow and save you a lot of digging.
