I do the same. I farm with older equipment, and try to redo a few pieces every winter. This winter I am rebuilding and painting an Oliver 1855 tractor, and maybe a 1655 if time allows. The sandblaster I use is homemade from a propane tank. If you google Texas blaster they sell something very similar for around $500. You will need a dedicated compressor. Craigslist may turn something up for ~$1000 or so. I have an old gas powered 125 cfm compressor. It will blast with a 1/4" nozzle, and is pretty fast. You can do a real thourough job blasting a tractor, wheels and sheet metal in maybe 2 hours. I have a smaller set up for my 15 cfm shop compressor. I use it if I need to blast something very small, but it would take forever to do a tractor. Like a week.
