We use the overpriced case jump drives,the problem is that it gets overwritten every time you power up and down and jump drives are not made to be overwritten that many times.

I'm not sure where you heard this, but it is not correct. The Pro 700 does not overwrite the the USB stick on every power up (or power down). This would be extremely inefficient, time-consuming, and serve no purpose. On power up, the display reads the stick and imports any non-GPS records that are not already in the display's internal memory. Some of the display settings saved on the stick might be overwritten/updated if they have changed since the last time the stick was installed, but that's all.

Even if it were true, USB flash memory is designed to withstand 10s of thousands of write cycles. Think of all the USB sticks out there being used in an office environment on a daily basis; they get a lot more actual use than a USB stick that's actually used only a few weeks per year in an ag environment, and they still last years. If you're having failures as often as you say, I don't think it's at all related to write cycles.
