Subject: Re: Phosphorus in High PH soils

I haven't been farming for the last 10 years, but I used to band 10-34-0 on high ph soils at planting for this same reason. I would also go with 10+ gallons but used what they called Y splitters that ran in the seed trench. They would help tuck in the seed and then split the fert between the two sides of the trench so it was not all concentrated in the middle. We had fairly moist soil so that may have helped in not having seed burn. I used to say that I was spoon feeding the phosphorus.
