N Central IA | I use an Out Back RTK system with 900 MHz radios and I'm able to run up to 8 miles on fairly level ground. Before this I had a base that had to be moved within a mile of the field, that is not really convenient when trying to plant and moving field to field. Depending on how far apart your fields are I would try and limit the times you have to move it. Get your antenna mounted as high as you can and see how far you can get signal, throw your receiver in a truck and go for a drive, it will tell you a lot.
